The title of my speech today is “The Doors that Are Open to Us ”.
The other day my aunt paid me a visit. She was overjoyed. “I got the highest mark in the mid-term examination!” she said. Dont be surprised! My aunt is indeed a student; to be exact, a college student at the age of 45. Last year, she put aside her private business and signed up for a one-year, full-time management course in a college. “This was the wisest decision I have ever made,” she said proudly like a teenage girl. To her, college is always a right place to pick up new ideas, and new ideas always make her feel young. “Compared with the late 70s,” she says, “now college students have many doors.”
My aunt cannot help but recall her first college experience in 1978 when college doors began to be re-opened after the Cultural Revolution. She was assigned to study engineering despite her desire to study Chinese literature, and a few years later, the government sent her to work in a TV factory. I was shocked when she first told me how she (had) had no choice in her major and job. Look at us today! So many doors are open to us! I believe there have never been such abundant opportunities for self-development as we have today. And my aunt told me that we should reach our goals by grasping all these opportunities.

And it is the language of choice for almost every byte of computer data sent across the globe. If we can speak English well,we will have more chances to succeed. More and more people have taken notice of this fact. Therefore, the number of the people who seek to learn English has increased at a rapid speed.
However, for me, I learn English not only because of its importance and its usefulness,but also because of my love for I learn English, I sense a different way of thinking which gives me more possibilities to be in touch with the I read English novels,I can feel the pleasure from the book which is different from reading the I speak English, I feel a great confidence within me. When I write English, I can see the beauty of the words.

A man was travelling abroad in a small red car.One day he left the car and went shopping.When he came back,its roof was badly damaged.Some boys told him that an elephant had damaged it.The man did not believe them,but they took him to a circus which was near there.The owner of the elephant said,'I am very sorry! My elephant has a big,round,red chair.He thought that your car was his chair,and he sat on it!' Then he gave the man a letter,in which he said that he was sorry and that he would pay for all the damage.
When the man got back to his own country,the customs officers would not believe his story.They said,'You sold your new car while you were abroad and bought this old one!'
It was only when the man showed them the letter from the circus man that they believed him.

Then we can travel around the world, make friends with many people from different countries, more importantly,we will be able to help foreigners learn more about Beijing and more about China. I hope that they can love our country as much as we do.
To achieve my dream, I’ve made great years ago, I seized the chance to go to Dos Crazy English Intensive Training Camp for free. I learned a lot there. Since I came back home, I’ve continued to listen and speak English on the road, on a bus, in school and at home. I know, Rome was not built in a day. I believe practice makes r continuous hard study, one day I can be an international Chinese.
This is who I am, a Chinese college student! This is my dream,to spread English throughout China and Chinese throughout the world!

My dear friends, welcome to our school! My school is very beautiful! It has a big playground. We can play and do some sports there. Near the playground, there is a garden. Many trees and flowers are there. So the air is very clean and we can hear birds singing in the trees. It is so wonderful. Our teaching buildings are around the garden and look like our teachers’ arms to welcome us. We can draw pictures in the art room on the first floor and read story-books in the library on the second floor. My classroom is on the third floor. It is clean and bright. We like to study in it. I tell you an experience of myself happened last week. lastthursday our school was tackling something about woking fou study. i wanted to have a try even though i knew the salary was so low and i had little chance,because the students who had the certificate were always thought to have priority to get the job. fortunately i was called at noon and a teacher said to me that she wanted me to work for her and asked if i could change my mind. at that moment i was so excited that immediately i accepted her idea. but later on,she found me that im not a student,so i had little chance and suggest me to get one.
Then an idea occurred to me that i could call my father and ask him to send me the letter. at the same time i was told that i was admitted to the job and dont need the certificate. that time i forgot to remind my father,until the next day he called me that he had posted it and it would arrive in just one day. at that moment i was moved, and even moved into tears, because i knew my father was injured not long before,the process of helping me with the affairs was not so convenient for him. but he tried his best to help me. sometimes we may complain about unsatisfying things around us,and blame them on our parents,sometimes theyll be angry with us, and sometimes we cant quite understand what they are thinking about. but on balance, almost every parent is selfless to his or her child. they are ready to offer everything to us when we are in bad situation. we used to sharing sorrow with them,but do not forget to share our happiness with them, perhaps they will be much happier than we are.
So from now on, lets care more about our parents and do not leave pity to them. thats what i want to tell you today. thank you!
